Renown violinist Jenny M.Thomas has surprised everyone by releasing an album of traditional Australian Folk songs - a collection of songs that connects us to our past, yet is free and inspired. Lush contemporary Folk.
In order to record her new album, Jenny mastered the rare and difficult art of singing and playing the fiddle at the same time, learnt how to play the spoons, constructed a lagerfonium and searched Melbourne for the sweetest banjo-mandolin. Collaborating with highly respected musicians Christopher Hale (banjo-mandolin) and Anthony Schulz (accordion) was the next step in her quest to resurrect these old and battered about songs.
The resulting album is a fresh interpretation of Australian Folk as we have never heard it before - a rich heritage of music rediscovered.
